HCLTech and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur have signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate deep tech innovation for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), focusing on converting advanced research into real-world pilots and scalable enterprise solutions.

The partnership combines HCLTech’s global GCC capabilities with IIT Kanpur’s strengths in translational R&D, particularly in AI, robotics, cybersecurity and next-generation technologies. The collaboration aims to help GCCs access niche research talent, reduce time-to-market and advance complex engineering initiatives without building in-house labs.

Launched at the “GCC 4.0: Co-Creating India’s Innovation Powerhouse” summit in Hyderabad, the initiative positions HCLTech as a research-led innovation partner, bridging academia, startups and enterprises to deliver enterprise-ready deep tech solutions at scale.
