Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH) has released its 2026 Biosimilars Report, highlighting more than $56 billion in U.S. healthcare savings generated by biosimilars since 2015 and growing provider confidence in their use.

Based on insights from 101 physician practices nationwide, the report shows nearly 99% of providers are comfortable explaining biosimilars to patients. Reimbursement stability remains a key factor in adoption, with 68% of practices rating consistent reimbursement as very important and 59% favoring fixed discount models over variable price reductions.

Oncology continues to lead in biosimilar adoption, with products reaching an average 81% market share within five years of launch. Cardinal Health expects nearly 25 new biosimilars to gain FDA approval over the next two years across immunology, oncology and retina therapies.

The report estimates that under supportive market and policy conditions, biosimilars could generate up to $181 billion in future savings while expanding patient access.
