IDEXX Laboratories announced a planned CEO succession as part of its long-term leadership transition. Michael Erickson, PhD, will be promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer effective May 12, 2026, succeeding Jay Mazelsky, who will move into the role of Executive Chair of the Board of Directors. Mazelsky plans to retire following the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting in May 2027 and will work closely with Erickson to support a smooth transition.
Erickson has been with IDEXX since 2011 and currently serves as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Global Point of Care Diagnostics and Telemedicine. He brings nearly 20 years of experience across diagnostics, software, strategy and healthcare innovation. As part of the transition, Erickson will also join IDEXX’s board of directors when he assumes the CEO role.
