Amgen Acquires Dark Blue Therapeutics to Strengthen Oncology Pipeline

Amgen announced the acquisition of Dark Blue Therapeutics in a deal valued at up to $840 million, adding a differentiated investigational therapy targeting acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The acquired program focuses on a first-in-class small molecule designed to degrade the MLLT1/3 proteins that drive certain AML subtypes, with promising preclinical activity.

Amgen said Dark Blue will be integrated into its research organization, reinforcing early oncology discovery and targeted protein degradation efforts. The company highlighted the potential for the therapy to address treatment resistance and improve remission durability in a cancer with significant unmet need.
