NEC to Transfer Fire and Disaster Prevention Businesses to Subsidiaries in April 2026

NEC Corporation announced a simplified absorption-type corporate split to restructure its fire and disaster prevention operations in Japan. Under the plan, NEC will transfer its maintenance business for prefectural and municipal fire-disaster prevention systems, along with operations serving external government agencies, to wholly owned subsidiary NESIC Holdings. NESIC Holdings will subsequently transfer the same businesses to NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation on the same effective date. The restructuring, scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2026, is part of NEC’s broader reorganization to consolidate public-sector system integration capabilities within NEC Networks & System Integration. The businesses being transferred generated revenue of 6.3 billion yen in fiscal 2025, and NEC expects the impact on its overall financial performance to be negligible.
