Malta House of Care has opened a new mobile health clinic site in East Hartford, Connecticut, supported by a two-year grant from The Cigna Group Foundation’s Health Equity Impact Fund. Operating twice a month from St. Mary’s Church Community Center, the clinic will provide more than 1,000 patient visits annually, offering free primary care to uninsured adults for chronic conditions, urgent needs, and preventive services such as screenings and vaccinations.

About 15% of adults in East Hartford are uninsured, and the new site expands Malta’s reach in Greater Hartford, where it has served as a trusted provider of free care for two decades. “We’re proud to join forces with The Cigna Group Foundation to expand access to care for those who need it most,” said Malta House CEO Dianne Auger.

Ellie Polack, president of The Cigna Group Foundation, emphasized the initiative’s role in reducing barriers to care: “People shouldn’t have to choose between health care and other basic necessities.” The project builds on Malta’s mission of health equity and The Cigna Group Foundation’s commitment to improving outcomes in underserved communities.
